We handcraft our vodka in small batches using British apples and a touch of potato
spirit. We distill it through 70 distillation plates (we could have stopped at 69, but we’re too classy for that!) to create an exceptionally smooth, clean finish. Through the entire distillation process the liquid is taste-tested every 20 minutes to ensure quality. No cheap ethanol. No mass production. Just proper vodka.

Our founder Chris discovered perfectly good apples going to waste in an abandoned
Yorkshire orchard. He decided to do something about it. Turns out, apples make
brilliant vodka - they create a naturally smooth, slightly fruity spirit that's distinctly different from grain-based vodkas.

Think of distillation plates as stages of refinement. Each plate purifies the spirit
further, removing impurities and creating a smoother taste. Most vodkas use far
fewer plates. We use 70 because we're slightly obsessed with quality (and
because it works incredibly well).

We could tell you but then we would have to kill you.  Much like the Colonel’s secret herbs and spices, it’s a trade secret.  However, we
can assure you that Dutch Barn Vodka is predominantly apple-based with a touch
of potato spirit added. The potato spirit gives our vodka a luscious, creamy mouthfeel that complements the crisp apple base perfectly.

Each flavoured vodka is crafted differently:

• Ginger Spiced: We create a ginger distillate from four different types of ginger, lime slices, star anise and cassia. We use both the pot and vapour basket to extract flavours. We blend the ginger distillate with Dutch Barn Vodka, organic ginger juice and lime juice to produce Dutch Barn Ginger Spiced.
• Raspberry: We create a raspberry distillate from fresh British raspberries. We use both the pot and vapour basket to
  extract flavours. We blend the raspberry distillate with Dutch Barn Vodka and small amounts of sugar, natural vanilla and
  strawberry to produce Dutch Barn British Raspberry.
• Black Cherry: We blend two different cherry juices, with Dutch Barn Vodka, sugar, natural cherry and almond to produce Dutch Barn Black Cherry.
• Vanilla: We create a vanilla distillate from
  two types of vanilla pod (Balinese and Madagascan), the vanilla pods are warm
  macerated in the pot of the still and then move to the vapour basket of the still for distillation, this is to extract the full flavour of the vanilla. We blend the vanilla distillate with Dutch Barn Vodka some natural vanilla and a small amount of sugar to produce Dutch Barn Balinese Vanilla.
• Mediterranean Citrus: We create a citrus distillate from a mix of fresh and dried citrus, we use four different types of citrus (Lemon, Orange, Lime & Pomelo) within the distillation. We use both the pot and
  vapour basket to extract flavours.   
  We blend the citrus distillate with Dutch Barn Vodka and a small amount of sugar to produce Dutch Barn Mediterranean Citrus.

All flavours are laid to rest after blending to let the flavours settle and deepen.

Yes! We use real ingredients - actual fruit, actual spices, actual vanilla pods. No
artificial flavourings, no fake nonsense. Just natural ingredients distilled into and blended with our signature smooth vodka.

We produce limited quantities at a time, allowing us to maintain strict quality
control. Every batch is taste-tested every 20 minutes during production. We're not churning out millions of bottles in some massive factory - we're making vodka the proper way, in our Yorkshire distillery.

Our bottles are made from 68% recycled glass, and the brown glass has been
scientifically proven in an independent study to actually protect the quality of the vodka inside. It's not just because we're trying to be different (though we are that too).

Absolutely! Our vodka is distilled through 70 plates specifically to create a finish smooth enough to drink neat. It's crisp, clean, with no burn, bite, or bitterness.

Not necessarily! While many people do, keeping vodka in the freezer can actually dull the flavour. For Dutch Barn, we recommend serving it chilled (15-20 minutes in the fridge) or over ice so you can actually taste the quality.

Standard bottles are 70cl (700ml). Alu-Minis are 5cl (50ml).

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. You can refrigerate or freeze it, but it's not necessary. Once opened, vodka lasts for years if properly stored (though it probably won't last that long).

No, vodka is shelf-stable and doesn't expire. As long as the bottle is properly sealed and stored, it will last indefinitely.

Opened vodka can last for years without significant quality loss. The high alcohol content prevents bacterial growth. Just keep it sealed when not in use.

Yes! Our glass bottles are made from 68% recycled glass and are fully recyclable. Our Alu-mini bottles are made from 100% recycled aluminium and are endlessly recyclable.

Vodka typically contains around 60-70 calories per 25ml shot (single measure). Flavoured vodkas may have slightly more due to natural ingredients, but they're still relatively low in calories compared to other drinks.
